Rothman Open Space-Lafayette
Darby's Favorite Reasons to Love this Hike:
-
Close to Lafayette or Erie, this hike is best when the weather is too cold or snowy to go into the mountains, or if you want to exercise on a quick, local trail. This trail is 3 miles in total, but you can repeat loops, or take shorter walks at your leisure.
-
This trail will take you to north Kneebone Park, or east to the Great Bark Dog Park (see our review of the dog parks here). Access points from the neighborhood north of the rec center, the dog park, or behind the skate park at Bob L. Burger Rec Center.
-
Views of Boulder's Flatiron Mountains and the eastern plains. Watch for eagles, coyotes, fox, hawks, and prairie dogs in this lush, natural park, aka the Outdoor Classroom.
-
Share the trail with bikers, and horses, runners and other doggies with their people. Dogs on leash only.
