Green Pineapple Smoothie

Fresh pineapple contains a proteolytic enzyme, bromelain, which helps breaks down protein. Loaded with vitamin C, it is a great fruit of choice for its high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Green Pineapple Smoothie


  • 1/2 cup(s) pineapple

  • 1 cup(s) grapes, unseeded

  • 1/2 banana

  • 2 cup(s) spinach, washed and de-stemmed

  • cup(s) ice cubes

  • cup(s) water, filtered

  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)


1. If you buy a fresh whole pineapple: Cuts the ends off with a sharp serrated knife. Carefully, cut the skin off. Cut the pineapple in half longways. Cut each half into half longways again. You should have a pointed triangular piece that is the core. Slice that off too, it is too hard to eat. Cut the rest of the corners for the other 3 pieces. Now, chop into large bite-sized pieces. You may also pre-cut pineapple from the store for easier preparation. Use only 1/2 cup per 2 servings.

2. Combine all the ingredients together in a high-speed blender, like a Vitamix or NutribulletTM. Pour into glasses and serve. Enjoy!
